Moving Premises

We know that moving to new business premises can be a stressful time, so our team are on hand to help you transfer your TalkTalk Business services in a few simple steps.


What do I need to tell TalkTalk about my premises move?

When you contact us to place your order, please have the following details to hand:

  • Current telephone number

  • Current business address

  • New business address (This address must be registered with Royal Mail to place your order. You can check your address is registered, and register a new one, at Royal Mail).

  • Dates for transferring your services (in line with our timescales - see the Placing My Order tab for further details)


Can I keep Fibre?

If your business has Fibre at your current premises, and you would like to transfer this to your new premises, we'll need to check whether this service is available for you. If it is, we'll need to activate your new line first before we can process your Fibre order.

You can also check Fibre availability on the Sales website by entering your postcode and selecting new line. There's no obligation to buy here, the system will just show you the services available at your new premises.


Can I keep my phone number?

We know how important your phone number is to your business, so we aim to help you keep it. In most cases if you move within the area covered by your current exchange you can keep your number and we'll check this for you when you place your order. If it's possible to keep your number we may need to provide you with a temporary number, then once you're connected we'll transfer your existing number.

If you're unable to keep your number, we'll provide you with a new one at your new premises.

How do I place an order to move premises?

How long will it take?

We know that your TalkTalk services are important for your business, so we aim to get everything up and running as soon as possible. It will normally take between 15 and 21 days to complete your line move, but this usually depends on whether or not you need a new line.


Will an engineer need to visit?

In most cases we'll need to send an engineer to your premises to carry out the work. We'll discuss this with you when you place your order, and a member of the move and change team will contact you to arrange a convenient date and time for your visit. 


To help you keep costs to a minimum, we offer great value premise moves. When you contact us to place your order, we'll be able to give you a price based on your line type and the services you're transferring. To help you plan your premise move, the estimated charges for our most popular types of line moves are as follows;

Standard Premise Move:

Our standard charges to move premises are below. Remember, if you're on the Complete broadband package we won't charge you for your first 2 moves.

  • Engineer: £85

  • Line Move: £49 / £64 each (depending on your line type).

Fibre Move:

Our charges for Fibre moves are as follows;

  • Internal Fibre Move: £99

  • External Fibre Move: £200
